Beattrice BolletaI create with the sand an “Elsewhere”, an unknown world that reveals itself to me every that a work is finished. The canvas becomes a “Territory” that isn’t the earth or his representation but the place of the whole and the nothing. The works on canvases can’t be defined as abstracts but, in the same time they do not represent the real. They place themselves at the border of the perception threshold with visual bewilderment caused by watching never seen places or unexplored lands. The sand rises, moves sinuously growing on itself with stratifications that materialize a mental landscape exalted by the natural colours of the sands in their spatial perspectives. The matter is charged with fullness, its poverty becomes animated and the work becomes a mind geography where the revealing sand not only talks about the matter and its course besides but also suggests forms, languages and atmospheres. The sand sculptures are cyborgs equipped for survival in these “Territories”, worrying presences in their loneliness. I am trying to create a thought, a vision of a nomadic cosmos where to include the metamorphosis of bodies, languages and atmospheres. |
